A colourful flotilla of walking boats, decorated by local school children, will form part of the Hanse parade this year, along with music and people waving the flags of Hanseatic nations.
Starting in the Tuesday Market Place, going along the High Street, down to the Saturday Market Place, then around the Hanse House, along South Quay ending at King Staithe Square near to the custom house.
Anyone can join in the parade. Dress up in pirate or Hanse fisherman costumes, or just come as you are. Bring instruments or just pans and wooden spoons to make a noise. The aim is to create a spectacle of noise and colour.
We’re expecting a visit from some marauding pirates from the King’s Lynn Steam Punk Society.
