• Hanse walks

See the Hanse’s influence in the town

Event description

Guided walks

King’s Lynn’s rich maritime history and enduring heritage with the German Hanseatic ports is well documented. To help celebrate this the King’s Lynn Town Guides are offering free Hanse guided walks.

Each walk, led by an experienced guide, lasts up to an hour and will provide an enduring insight in to key Hanseatic sites.  These include the Custom House, King Street, the medieval St George’s Guildhall, the Purfleet, Queen Street, Clifton House, with its watchtower and 14th-century undercroft, Thoresby College, the Saturday Market Place, the Holy Trinity Guildhall (the home of Lynn’s Great Guild of merchants), Lynn Minster and the Hanse House itself – the only remaining Hanseatic warehouse in England.

Walks – 11:00 and 14:00
